  • Open the Discord app, click the gear icon, go to "Text & Images," and toggle off "Automatically convert emoticons in your messages to emoji."
  • The mobile app doesn't have this toggle, so you can use a web browser to see the toggle or the desktop app on your computer.
  • Alternatively, enter a backslash before your text that has an emoticon in it, like "\:)".
