You are invited to join us for a beautiful weekend of writing!

We are thrilled to announce that registration is officially OPEN for the 2nd Annual Sankofa Sisterhood Writers Retreat, May 27-30th. This years theme and focus is on NOURISHING THE WRITER! NOURISHING THE SOUL! 

It is common to hear women say that they feel burnt out. Women who constantly give, serve, and provide everything to everyone… leaving nothing for themselves.  This year we have designed a retreat that is centered on nourishing your creativity, body and mind.

NEW THIS YEAR: we have a bigger house and a personal chef from the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales!  

THIS RETREAT IS FOR:

Women of Color.

Writers who need time and space to write.

Women who need a break to nourish their creativity, body, mind and soul.

Writers who have works they would like to complete.

Women seeking the support and encouragement of “writing in community.”

DAY 1: Friday, May 27th

DAY 2: Saturday, May 28th

7:30am – 8:00am – Morning Meditation

8:00am – 9:00am – Breakfast

9:00am – 10:30am – Writing Goals

10:30am – 12:30pm – Personal Writing Time

12:30pm – 1:30pm – LUNCH

1:30pm – 2:30pm – Keynote – TBA

2:30pm – 3:30pm – Writing Workshop – TBA

3:30pm – 6:30pm – Personal Writing Time

6:30pm – 7:30pm – Dinner

HOW TO REGISTER:

To complete your registration and to hold your seat you must complete and submit the WRITER’S QUESTIONNAIRE and pay the $100 non-refundable deposit.

Required writing sample: Your writing sample can be a combination of poetry and prose, short excerpts of a larger piece, published or unpublished work. It should be up to ten pages, double spaced, Times New Roman font, size 12, double spaced. 

The retreat cost is $500.00 (+ $50 refundable insurance deposit) retreat fee includes getaway mountain house in the Catskills, shared rooms, all meals, workshops, activities, and personal writing time.

Limited space available — first (12) writers.

May 16, 2016  Payment plan final payment

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Early bird special paid in full by April 1, 2016: $450 (+ $50 refundable deposit)

Non-refundable deposit of $100 to hold your spot due upon registration.

OPTION 1: Early bird special: $450 (+$50 refundable insurance deposit) due  April 1st.

OPTION 2: Payment in full $500.00 (+$50 refundable insurance deposit)  due April 18th.

OPTION 3: Payment plan – 4 payments of $100.00 (+$50 refundable insurance deposit) – -(4) payments of $100 due April 4th,  April 18th, May 2nd, and  May 16th.

Saturday & Sunday DAY PASSES: $125.00 per day (includes meals and workshops)

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Must cancel after paying in full or making payments? If you cancel more than 30 days before the retreat begins, we will return your payment minus the non-refundable deposit. If you cancel within 30 days of the retreat, we will not refund any monies but you are welcome to sell or give away your spot, contingent upon the writer filling out the questionnaire and acceptance.
