This morning I wake to the sad news that my beloved friend Jaime “El Maestro” Emeric is no longer with us. He was a magnificent spirit and talented poet. This is the second time someone special has passed away while I’m away on a spiritual and creative journey. My dear friend Margo died while I was filming @afrolatinostv. So as we continue this journey on our train ride through Russia I want to share a quote Jaime lived by, he was a human who walked in love and spread joy daily through his messages and what he put out on the world, “A Man of Love! Practicing his utmost spirituality, by living in peace with truth, meaning & purpose” may we all find what this looks like for us. Luz for your spirit. Ibayé baye tonu.
To my writers, we trek on…
1. We leave for Listvyanka today.
2. Five hours of writing daily from this point forward.
3. Email check in/update/love letter to someone back home.
1. Today we are exploring the theme of loss. What significant person has our character lost? How does loss and grief show up in their lives? Describe the moment in detail. Use all the senses: what did it feel like, smell like… etc.
Writing time: everyday we will block at the very least 5 hours of writing time for our projects. Please send me an update on your progress. Where are you getting stuck? How can I support you? Email me the subjects you are writing about and I will provide prompts that tie into your needs.
Send daily check in email: firstname.lastname@example.org
